World's Biggest Hamburger

It was a slow news day as half of Canada’s media was at Yonge-Dundas Square to watch Chef Ted Reader (http://www.tedreader.com) attempt to cook the world’s largest hamburger. The cooking had started at 4am this morning and the burger wasn't cooked till about 12:30pm. Napoleon Gourmet Grills built Ted a special barbecue that was more than enough to grill the huge patty. The hard part was slicing the massive bun in half and getting the patty from the grill onto the bun. It was like a team of surgeons were operating as the patty was manoeuvred into place. Next came all the typical burger ingredients including some lettuce and barbecue sauce.
Chef Ted Reader is promoting his new book "Napoleon's Everyday Gourmet Burgers" and raising money and awareness for Camp Bucko which is a charity/camp for children who are burn survivors. Also on hand was the City of Toronto Fire Department which might have been sending the wrong message to the crowd with their large hazardous materials unit fire truck.
I was looking for the world's biggest beer to wash down the burger but I didn't happen to find one.

I talked to Chef Ted after the event and he said that he had indeed made the world's largest hamburger at 590lbs. It was also sold by auction for $8,500 which certainly helped with the fundraising efforts.
